Infertility Treatment Procedures with Stem Cells

Mary Schwarz, 36 y.o. from Patient

Although she had her first child at the age of 25, a cute curly girl, something happened. She tried to get pregnant at 30, but failed. She wasnot that worried at first, and continued trying.

Infertility primarily refers to the biological inability of a person to contribute to conception. Infertility may also refer to the state of a woman who is unable to carry a pregnancy to full term. There are many biological causes of infertility, including some that medical intervention can treat.

Women who are fertile experience a natural period of fertility before and during ovulation, and they are naturally infertile during the rest of the menstrual cycle. Fertility awareness methods are used to discern when these changes occur by tracking changes in cervical mucus or basal body temperature. The reason of her infertility was unclear, some medical practitioners said smoking might have led to the condition.

She decided to do a new type of treatment: the treatment with adipose-derived stem cells.

During her treatment, adipose-derived stem cells in mitotically inactivated porcine ovarian fibroblasts (POF) differentiated into germ cells (precursor cells of oocytes and spermatozoa), as evidenced by gene expression analysis.

After 18 months passed from the time of treatment at a clinic of Swiss Medica ХХІ Century S.A. she already conceived, and is now at the 7th month of her successful pregnancy.
